Find the Oak tree with wasp galls on it, and you’ll find a hummer’s nest! They build their nest on top of the gall.
I had one last year that turned into a nice place to get some baby hummer shots. She is back again this year and on the nest warming eggs right now. Her nest has been about 8 to 10 feet off the ground on the East side of the tree both years.
It’s like a “Where’s Waldo”…not easy to find, but they are there. Especially if your feeding.
Appreciate the tip on where to look for a nest. Molly and I got to talk with the lady that ‘oversees’ these lil nippers and she said that activity at the feeder will pick up when the babies are fledged.
I have started looking for spider webs as potential ‘feeding stations’. LOL
We still miss our other birds but until the water goes down, these guys will keep us entertained.

I think we haven’t scratched the surface when it comes to these guys–
we may have to break out the flash to try and truly freeze the wings and using flash still makes my head hurt trying to figure it out LOL
Nice!
Thanks Nancy
Molly and I appreciate your dropping by and making a comment.
