Harriers

I suppose by now everyone knows where to go and when to go to get images of Northern Harriers. If you don’t or you have forgotten, email us and we will be glad to share. Still processing the cream of the crop but these ain’t chopped liver and I am pleased with how they turned out.

  1. Nice BIll and Molly! Where are the males? I’ve seen one male all winter at Busch Wildlife and one at RWBS that’s it. Maybe they’re a bit more shy?

      From what I have read,juveniles of both sexes are brownish/buff with ‘orange’ underparts, so we may have seen males and not known it.
      Evidently the male harrier can be polygamous as well as monogamous so there may be fewer males than females.

      All I can tell you is that I have yet to see a mature male at CB 🙂
